A nonrefundable $2,000 retainer (paid via certified check) is required for court appearances.
I charge for my time, whether as a fact or expert witness. If my schedule allows, I will testify, but since this requires canceling patient appointments, all time spent on the case must be paid in advance, including preparation, travel, and court time.
Fees (debited in 15-minute increments):
Preparation (reviewing files, attorney meetings, etc.): $250/hour
Court & travel time: $250/hour
Depositions & attorney meetings: $250/hour
Other related expenses
I do not accept "on-call" requests, as last-minute scheduling disrupts my practice.
If the retainer drops below $500, a conference will determine if an additional $1,000 deposit is needed.
If a conflict arises, I may terminate the therapeutic relationship and provide referrals.
